The Hoya Ondol is a modernized version of the traditional Korean underfloor heating system, Ondol. Ondol has roots dating back to the Bronze Age and developed during the Three Kingdoms of Korea (57 BC-668 AD). The original Ondol system used wood for heat generation, but modern systems use hot-water pipes embedded in the floor.
The Hoya Ondol, jointly developed by Hoya HomeTech and the Korean Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), is a more durable and thermal efficient underfloor heating system. These panels are several times lighter than the wet method, making them suitable for use in weaker or historic buildings.
The Hoya Ondol panels offer not only heating but also provide a hot massage, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. They are certified safe, with no radioactive substances or contaminants. This contemporary heating solution is considered an eco-friendly option.
